Albertine Koehler was born on August 19, 1856 in Germany. She married Ferdinand C. Scheer in 1878 in Germany. At the age of 27, Albertine and her husband Ferdinand Scheer departed from Hamburg, Germany with their two children Bertha and Franz and arrived in New York in June 1883.
They settled in Green Lake Center, Wisconsin, where they farmed and raised nine children (their last son, Paul, died as a baby). They lived in Green Lake until 1947, when they moved to Ripon, Wisconsin.
When he visited the farm as a child, Lloyd would pick blackberries ... but ate them all himself! He remembers borrowing books from the woman across the road. She had a library, or maybe her many books seemed like a library to a kid.
In 1933, Albertine and other family members (including Lloyd) travelled to the World's Fair in Chicago. Albertine would have been 77 years old - Lloyd remembers her prancing around the Fair like a teenager.

Bertha Scheer was born in Heidekafel Germany. She traveled to the U.S. with her parents and brother Frank in 1883. Bertha married August Dahlke in Ripon, WI on Feb 16, 1898. She was 18 at the time. They lived in Green Lake initially, but in 1902 moved to South Dakota.
Witnesses at their wedding include Bertha's brother Frank (Franz) and Theo Hamburger (Fred Keehl's uncle. Fred married Bertha & August Sheer's daughter Violet...Fred & Viola Keehl).
Bertha and August had 12 children:
Frank Scheer was born in Heidekafel Germany. He traveled to the U.S. with his parents and sister Bertha in 1883. Frank married Dora Werth at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairwater, WI on Feb 18th, 1903.
Witnesses at their wedding include Frank's brother Charles Scheer, his sister Anna Scheer, Ludwig Moderaff, and Ella Draegn (sp?).
Frank and Dora lived and farmed in Green Lake and had one child, Laura Marie. Frank and Dora are buried in the Fairwater Cemetery.
Emma Scheer was born in Green Lake, WI. She married Charles Dahlke at Central House in Green Lake, WI on December 10th, 1902 at age 19. Witnesses at their wedding were: Minnie Dahlke, Fred Dahlke, Emma Prellwitz, and Charles Scheer.
Emma and Charles farmed in the Grren Lake/Ripon area. They had seven children
Charles Scheer was born in Green Lake, WI in 1885. He married Louise Bierman on Sept 23, 1908 at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairwater. Their attendants were: Albert Scheer, Reinholdt Wilke, Dora Biermann, Else Hanemann, Hy Schimmel, and Laura Hanemann.
Charles and Louise had one dauger Lucille Marie, born in 1919. Louise died of a heart attack in 1960.

Albert was born in Green Lake, WI in 1888. He married Helen Louise Lichtenberg on 23 Sep 1914 when he was 26 years old. They lived in Green Lake, and then later Ripon, WI. They had no children as far as I can tell.
Ella Scheer was born in Green Lake WI in 1890. She married Herman August Jahns on 23 October 1907 when Ella was 17 years old and Herman was 23. They lived in Green Lake when they were first married, and then by 1920 they had moved to Joliet Illinois. In Joliet, they owned a large house and took in boarders. (Herman may have worked outside the home as well). Ella's sister Martha moved with Lloyd to Joliet for a time. At first Marth and Lloyd lived with them, but later Martha bought or rented a house of her own, and also took on boarders.
Herman and Ella had two daughters, Esther and Alberta. Herman and Ella died within a year of each other, 1968 and 1969 respectively.
Ida Scheer was born in Centerhouse, Green Lake WI in 1891. She married Frank Heller on 27 September 1917 when Ida was 25 years old and Frank was 33. They settled in Appleton, WI and had one daughter Grace (Grace Burmeister Frei). Ida was 101 years old when she died in 1993. Frank had died 32 years earlier in 1961.
