Albertine Kohler
b. 19 Aug 1856, d. 2 Aug 1953

Albertine Koehler was born on August 19, 1856 in Germany. She married Ferdinand C. Scheer in 1878 in Germany. At the age of 27, Albertine and her husband Ferdinand Scheer departed from Hamburg, Germany with their two children Bertha and Franz and arrived in New York in June 1883.

They settled in Green Lake Center, Wisconsin, where they farmed and raised nine children (their last son, Paul, died as a baby). They lived in Green Lake until 1947, when they moved to Ripon, Wisconsin.

When he visited the farm as a child, Lloyd would pick blackberries ... but ate them all himself! He remembers borrowing books from the woman across the road. She had a library, or maybe her many books seemed like a library to a kid.

In 1933, Albertine and other family members (including Lloyd) travelled to the World's Fair in Chicago. Albertine would have been 77 years old - Lloyd remembers her prancing around the Fair like a teenager.
