Albert and Martha farmed on land owned by William and Elizabeth Toll. Lloyd recalls stories of Albert being a people-person, very interested in others perhaps to the detriment to his own health. He registered for the World War I draft, but he did not serve.

Albert died in 1923. His death certificate states the cause of death as anemia symtaueatic with thoracia aneurysm and interstitial nephritis as secondary causes. This translates to anemia, compounded by an aneurysm in the aorta in his chest, and kidney disease. From the death certificate it appears that Albert was being treated by his physician for about three weeks prior to his death.
