Albert attended the Ag school in Ripon to learn about farming. This photo shows Albert with some of his classmates. He's standing on the left, behind the sawhorse.
On September 27th 1916, Albert married Martha Scheer from Green Lake, WI. Martha was the youngest daughter of Ferdinand and Albertine Scheer. Martha’s sister Ida Scheer and Albert’s brother Edward Toll signed the marriage certificate as witnesses.
Albert and Martha farmed on land owned by William and Elizabeth Toll. Lloyd recalls stories of Albert being a people-person, very interested in others perhaps to the detriment to his own health. He registered for the World War I draft, but he did not serve.
Albert died in 1923, possibly of Bright’s disease and/or pneumonia. He's buried at Hillside Cemetery in Ripon, Wisconsin.
